Wannaku Arachchige Hector was fired from a transport company for theft of fuel from a fleet of vehicles. He filed action in Vauxhall Street labor courts and after 3 hearings, the company agreed for settlement of the case by paying 6 months wages. By this time he is already employed in another company. Having tasted the "Compensation" trick, he wanted to get fired from his second employment. He behaved in a manner detrimental to discipline and then was absent for 2 weeks without leave. Appearing after 2 weeks he wanted to work but the company refused to give him work. By this time he has learned that he could file labor cases without lawyers just by completing an application and mailing it to labor courts he initiated court action. He filed a case by himself without paying for lawyers. After 3 hearings, the company agreed to pay 6 months wages and settle the case.
By this time Hector has earned 12 months wages within 8 months time without working at all but by serial litigation techniques. Will he be your employee?
